Precision Medical Care Newsletter - January 2025
Happy New Year!
We are celebrating our precision physician partnerships of 2024!
Connection, Collaboration & Community are so foundational to our purpose: to strengthen and grow our Precision Medical Care Community! We are so proud of the impact our team has made on the healthy longevity of our community. Our 2025 goals are to keep building our “Precision Collaborative” of expert physicians to meet the growing demand for precision medicine.
Here are some of our updates and shares:
Dr. Agarwal and Dr. Florence Comite share precision medical insights in this meaningful conversation, have a listen: New Year, Healthier You: Integrative medicine physician Deepti Agarwal MD interviews Dr. Comite about proactive Precision Medicine
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Sadiq plans to expand her partnership with PMC in the new year as Medical Director of PMC Hinsdale. She is opening her office in Hinsdale very soon… stay tuned for more updates! Dr. Sadiq is actively expanding her precision panel of PMC patients as an extension of her primary role as Founder of Well Endocrinology, her concierge endocrinology practice.
In the last two years, PMC has an average intake of over three new patient consultations a week! We are working diligently and creatively to manage the growth of the practice. We want to thank you all of your support!
Here are some stats:
70% of PMC patients are women
4% of our patients are age 16-29
8% are 30-39 years of age
25% are 40-49 years of age
36% are 50-59 years of age
18% are 60-69 years of age
9% are between the age of 70-89
Of course, the real question is… How “old” do our patients feel? We may have to poll our precision community!
Oh, the travels our patients have shared with us.., I think every continent has been represented in the last six months! Australia, New Zealand, Italy, France, Canada, Greece, Thailand, Japan, Mexico, Costa Rica, Antigua, Aruba, St John, Turks & Caicos, Brazil, Africa, South Africa, China, India, England, Switzerland, Israel, Egypt, Peru, Iceland, Spain… wow!!
Travel is such a key to growth and staying healthy during travel is so vital!
Some updates: The FDA approved the first medication for sleep apnea, Zepbound (Tirzepatide, also known as Mounjaro).
Insurance companies have been anticipating these expanded FDA approvals for GLP-1 medications to treat sleep apnea, arthritis… yet despite the recent FDA approval for Zepbound for obstructive sleep apnea, we still haven’t had a successful approval for this indication. We are on it! https://www.primetherapeutics.com/w/prime-therapeutics-clinical-criteria-updates-1

It’s “dry January” for many and that’s a good thing! Here’s a great reminder on why we recommend reducing alcohol consumption:

A preview into the future of potential targets for precision autoimmune /auto inflammatory therapies :
PCOS is a metabolic disease and causes really tricky insulin resistance which can make it really hard to lose weight! (And yes… it IS your hormones!)
We see it every day and it’s so helpful to see more research related to the pathophysiology of this condition:
A common question at the office, if I take GLP medications … do I have to be on them forever? As we say, you don’t “have to” do anything and we will adapt your therapeutic support creatively based on data tracking while honoring your goals and preferences. This paper is especially helpful as many plans are reducing insurance coverage of GLP meds.
A nice summary of the prescribing nuances, safety & efficacy of anti obesity medications with references of future therapeutics:
A helpful reference FROM TEN YEARS AGO in case someone says, “just move more and eat less to lose weight…”
Emergency Medicine Board re-certification journal articles… because Dr Catherine spent about 50 hours and about $4K to pass even more exams for her recertification after twenty years of maintaining board certification. Thank you to my patients and friends who encouraged me to “just do it…”
The article of most interest: acute stroke management. Thrombectomy is a brain saving option if you’re at the right hospital at the right time! Not surprisingly but sadly, identifying victims of sex trafficking and managing opiate addiction are important practice updates in the last ten years, too.

We are looking forward to welcoming Dr. Preyasi Kothari to the Chicago and Clarendon Hills offices next week. She’s an emergency physician based in Atlanta, GA. We’ve met Dr Kothari at recent medical conferences and she shares our passion for expanding the practice of precision medicine. Check her out on Instagram: she keeps us inspired about staying fit!
Book Recommendations
A few book recommendations from a few of our physician colleagues and friends:
Dr. Pradeep Albert and Dr. Alan Katz are longevity medicine researchers and specialists that we connect with regularly at conferences.
Dr. Alexandra Sowa is a friend and colleague who just released her book “The Ozempic Revolution.” We especially love Dr. Sowa as she introduced PMC to our precision assistant, Kelly Flanagan! Kelly is acknowledged in the book, too.
